एकसार्थं परयाताः समॊ वयम अप्य अत्र गामिनः तत्र हय अद्भुतसंकाशॊ भविता सुमहॊत्सवः ॥ १-१७५-६ ॥
'A grand Swayamvara is being held there, with a considerable sum of money being spent. We are also heading in that direction. Let us travel together.' ॥ 1-175-6 ॥

यज्ञसेनस्य दुहिता दरुपदस्य महात्मनः वेदीमध्यात समुत्पन्ना पद्मपत्र निभेक्षणा ॥ १-१७५-७ ॥
'Extraordinary festivities will unfold at Drupada's residence. The illustrious Yajnasena, also known as Drupada, had a daughter born from the heart of the sacrificial altar.' ॥ 1-175-7 ॥

दर्शनीयानवद्याङ्गी सुकुमारी मनस्विनी धृष्टद्युम्नस्य भगिनी दरॊण शत्रॊः परतापिनः ॥ १-१७५-८ ॥
'With eyes resembling lotus petals, flawless youthful features, and intelligence, she is exceedingly beautiful. Draupadi, whose every aspect is faultless, with a slender waist emitting a fragrance like that of the blue lotus spreading two miles around, is the sister of Dhrishtadyumna.' ॥ 1-175-8 ॥

यॊ जातः कवची खड्गी सशरः सशरासनः सुसमिद्धे महाबाहुः पावके पावकप्रभः ॥ १-१७५-९ ॥
'He is endowed with great prowess, destined to slay Drona, born with natural armor, sword, bow, and arrows from the blazing fire, akin to a second Fire himself.' ॥ 1-175-9 ॥

सवसा तस्यानवद्याङ्गी दरौपदी तनुमध्यमा नीलॊत्पलसमॊ गन्धॊ यस्याः करॊशात परवायति ॥ १-१७५-१० ॥
'With her entire faultless body, Draupadi of slender waist, from whose pores emanated a fragrance like the blue lotus flower.' ॥ 1-175-10 ॥
