वसिष्ठश च महाभागः सर्वम एतद अपश्यत जञानयॊगेन महता तपसा च परंतप ॥ १-१७३-२१ ॥
'And, O vanquisher of enemies, the illustrious and exalted Vasishtha, by his ascetic power and spiritual insight, immediately comprehended everything.' ॥ 1-173-21 ॥
english translation
vasiSThaza ca mahAbhAgaH sarvama etada apazyata jaJAnayògena mahatA tapasA ca paraMtapa ॥ 1-173-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमुक्तशापश च राजर्षिः कालेन महता ततः ऋतुकाले ऽभिपतितॊ मदयन्त्या निवारितः ॥ १-१७३-२२ ॥
'And long after this, when the king was finally freed from his curse, he approached his wife Madayanati when her season arrived.' ॥ 1-173-22 ॥
english translation
muktazApaza ca rAjarSiH kAlena mahatA tataH RtukAle 'bhipatitò madayantyA nivAritaH ॥ 1-173-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन हि सस्मार नृपतिस तं शापं शापमॊहितः देव्याः सॊ ऽथ वचः शरुत्वा स तस्या नृपसत्तमः तं च शापम अनुस्मृत्य पर्यतप्यद भृशं तदा ॥ १-१७३-२३ ॥
'But Madayanati gently sent him away. Ensnared by passion, the king had forgotten about the curse. However, upon hearing his wife's words, the noble king became greatly alarmed. Remembering the curse, he deeply regretted his actions.' ॥ 1-173-23 ॥
english translation
na hi sasmAra nRpatisa taM zApaM zApamòhitaH devyAH sò 'tha vacaH zarutvA sa tasyA nRpasattamaH taM ca zApama anusmRtya paryatapyada bhRzaM tadA ॥ 1-173-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएतस्मात कारणाद राजा वसिष्ठं संन्ययॊजयत सवदारे भरतश्रेष्ठ शापदॊषसमन्वितः ॥ १-१७३-२४ ॥
'It was for this reason, O best of men, that the monarch, afflicted by the curse of the Brahmani, appointed Vasishtha to father a son upon his queen.' ॥ 1-173-24 ॥

etasmAta kAraNAda rAjA vasiSThaM saMnyayòjayata savadAre bharatazreSTha zApadòSasamanvitaH ॥ 1-173-24 ॥
