निखातं तद धि वै वित्तं केन चिद भृगुवेश्मनि वैरायैव तदा नयस्तं कषत्रियान कॊपयिष्णुभिः किं हि वित्तेन नः कार्यं सवर्गेप्सूनां दविजर्षभ ॥ १-१७०-१७ ॥

sanskrit

'The wealth that the Bhrigus had buried in their house was placed solely to provoke the Kshatriyas and incite conflict with them. O best of Brahmanas, as we were striving for heaven, what use did we have for wealth?' ॥ 1-170-17 ॥

english translation

nikhAtaM tada dhi vai vittaM kena cida bhRguvezmani vairAyaiva tadA nayastaM kaSatriyAna kòpayiSNubhiH kiM hi vittena naH kAryaM savargepsUnAM davijarSabha ॥ 1-170-17 ॥
