दहत कव चिज जवलन इवावलेलिहत; परसह्य तान असुरगणान नयकृन्तत परवेरितं वियति मुहुः कषितौ तदा; पपौ रणे रुधिरम अथॊ पिशाचवत ॥ १-१७-२३ ॥
'Sometimes it blazed like fire and consumed them all; sometimes it struck them down as it coursed through the sky; and sometimes, falling on the earth, it drank their life-blood like a goblin.' ॥ 1-17-23 ॥
