ततॊ याज्य निमित्तं तु विश्वामित्र वसिष्ठयॊः वैरम आसीत तदा तं तु विश्वामित्रॊ ऽनवपद्यत ॥ १-१६६-११ ॥
'Thus spoke the powerful Rishi Sakti to King Kalmashapada. At that moment, Viswamitra, who was in a dispute with Vasishtha over the discipleship of Kalmashapada, arrived at the place where the monarch and Vasishtha's son stood.' ॥ 1-166-11 ॥
english translation
tatò yAjya nimittaM tu vizvAmitra vasiSThayòH vairama AsIta tadA taM tu vizvAmitrò 'navapadyata ॥ 1-166-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतयॊर विवदतॊर एवं समीपम उपचक्रमे ऋषिर उग्रतपाः पार्थ विश्वामित्रः परतापवान ॥ १-१६६-१२ ॥
'And, O Partha, the Rishi of severe ascetic penances, Viswamitra of great energy, approached the pair, having discerned through his spiritual insight that they had been quarreling.' ॥ 1-166-12 ॥

tayòra vivadatòra evaM samIpama upacakrame RSira ugratapAH pArtha vizvAmitraH paratApavAna ॥ 1-166-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः स बुबुधे पश्चात तम ऋषिं नृपसत्तमः ऋषेः पुत्रं वसिष्ठस्य वसिष्ठम इव तेजसा ॥ १-१६६-१३ ॥
'Then, afterwards, that best of kings (Kalmashapada) recognized that sage, the son of the sage Vasishtha, who was like Vasishtha himself in radiance.' ॥ 1-166-13 ॥

tataH sa bubudhe pazcAta tama RSiM nRpasattamaH RSeH putraM vasiSThasya vasiSThama iva tejasA ॥ 1-166-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअन्तर्धाय तदात्मानं विश्वामित्रॊ ऽपि भारत ताव उभाव उपचक्राम चिकीर्षन्न आत्मनः परियम ॥ १-१६६-१४ ॥
'And, O Bharata, Viswamitra, seeking to benefit himself, remained at that spot, concealing himself from the sight of both by becoming invisible.' ॥ 1-166-14 ॥

antardhAya tadAtmAnaM vizvAmitrò 'pi bhArata tAva ubhAva upacakrAma cikIrSanna AtmanaH pariyama ॥ 1-166-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस तु शप्तस तदा तेन शक्तिना वै नृपॊत्तमः जगाम शरणं शक्तिं परसादयितुम अर्हयन ॥ १-१६६-१५ ॥
'In the aftermath of the dreadful curse, Kalmashapada, once the paragon of kings, humbled himself and sought sanctuary at the feet of Sage Shakti, earnestly imploring forgiveness and mercy, as was befitting a penitent seeking absolution from his transgression.' ॥ 1-166-15 ॥

sa tu zaptasa tadA tena zaktinA vai nRpòttamaH jagAma zaraNaM zaktiM parasAdayituma arhayana ॥ 1-166-15 ॥
