स तस्य मनुजेन्द्रस्य पश्यतॊ भगवान ऋषिः ऊर्ध्वम आचक्रमे दरष्टुं भास्करं भास्करद्युतिः ।। १-१६२-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'Then, in the presence of the king, the illustrious sage ascended upwards to meet the Sun, radiating with the splendor of that luminary.' ।। 1-162-16 ।।

english translation

sa tasya manujendrasya pazyatò bhagavAna RSiH Urdhvama Acakrame daraSTuM bhAskaraM bhAskaradyutiH || 1-162-16 ||

hk transliteration

सहस्रांशुं ततॊ विप्रः कृताञ्जलिर उपस्थितः वसिष्ठॊ ऽहम इति परीत्या स चात्मानं नयवेदयत ।। १-१६२-१७ ।।

sanskrit

'With folded hands, the Brahmin approached the god of a thousand rays and cheerfully introduced himself, saying, "I am Vasishtha."' ।। 1-162-17 ।।

english translation

sahasrAMzuM tatò vipraH kRtAJjalira upasthitaH vasiSThò 'hama iti parItyA sa cAtmAnaM nayavedayata || 1-162-17 ||

hk transliteration

तम उवाच महातेजा विवस्वान मुनिसत्तमम महर्षे सवागतं ते ऽसतु कथयस्व यथेच्छसि ।। १-१६२-१८ ।।

sanskrit

'The great luminary, addressing the eminent sage Vasishtha, said, "Welcome, O great sage! Please tell me what brings you here and how I may assist you."' ।। 1-162-18 ।।

english translation

tama uvAca mahAtejA vivasvAna munisattamama maharSe savAgataM te 'satu kathayasva yathecchasi || 1-162-18 ||
