तस्मात तापत्य यत किं चिन नृणां शरेय इहेप्सितम तस्मिन कर्मणि यॊक्तव्या दान्तात्मानः पुरॊहिताः ॥ १-१५९-१६ ॥
'O offspring of Tapati, it is therefore imperative for people to engage knowledgeable priests with self-discipline to attain all the good fortune they seek.' ॥ 1-159-16 ॥
english translation
वेदे षडङ्गे निरताः शुचयः सत्यवादिनः धर्मात्मानः कृतात्मानः सयुर नृपाणां पुरॊहिताः ॥ १-१५९-१७ ॥
'The Brahmana who is proficient in the Vedas and their six ancillary disciplines, who is pure, truthful, virtuous, and self-disciplined, is indeed fit to be the king's priest.' ॥ 1-159-17 ॥
english translation
जयश च नियतॊ राज्ञः सवर्गश च सयाद अनन्तरम यस्य सयाद धर्मविद वाग्मी पुरॊधाः शीलवाञ शुचिः ॥ १-१५९-१८ ॥
'The monarch becomes ever victorious and ultimately attains heaven when he has as his priest a Brahmana well-versed in moral principles, eloquent in speech, and of impeccable conduct.' ॥ 1-159-18 ॥

लाभं लब्धुम अलब्धं हि लब्धं च परिरक्षितुम पुरॊहितं परकुर्वीत राजा गुणसमन्वितम ॥ १-१५९-१९ ॥
'The king should always appoint a skilled priest who can help him acquire what he does not possess and safeguard what he already has.' ॥ 1-159-19 ॥

पुरॊहित मते तिष्ठेद य इच्छेत पृथिवीं नृपः पराप्तुं मेरुवरॊत्तंसां सर्वशः सागराम्बराम ॥ १-१५९-२० ॥
'One seeking his prosperity should always heed his priest, as through such guidance, he may obtain dominion over the entire earth, encircled by its vast oceans.' ॥ 1-159-20 ॥
