वेदे षडङ्गे निरताः शुचयः सत्यवादिनः धर्मात्मानः कृतात्मानः सयुर नृपाणां पुरॊहिताः ॥ १-१५९-१७ ॥

sanskrit

'The Brahmana who is proficient in the Vedas and their six ancillary disciplines, who is pure, truthful, virtuous, and self-disciplined, is indeed fit to be the king's priest.' ॥ 1-159-17 ॥

english translation

vede SaDaGge niratAH zucayaH satyavAdinaH dharmAtmAnaH kRtAtmAnaH sayura nRpANAM puròhitAH ॥ 1-159-17 ॥
