देवगन्धर्ववाहास ते दिव्यगन्धा मनॊ गमाः कषीणाः कषीणा भवन्त्य एते न हीयन्ते च रंहसः ।। १-१५८-४६ ।।

sanskrit

'These celestial horses, with their celestial hue and swiftness akin to thought, are employed by the celestial beings and Gandharvas. Though they may appear lean-fleshed, they never tire, and their speed remains unaffected.' ।। 1-158-46 ।।

english translation

devagandharvavAhAsa te divyagandhA manò gamAH kaSINAH kaSINA bhavantya ete na hIyante ca raMhasaH || 1-158-46 ||

hk transliteration

पुरा कृतं महेन्द्रस्य वज्रं वृत्र निबर्हणे दशधा शतधा चैव तच छीर्णं वृत्रमूर्धनि ।। १-१५८-४७ ।।

sanskrit

'In ancient times, the thunderbolt was forged for the chief of the celestials to slay the demon Vritra. However, when hurled at Vritra, it shattered into a thousand pieces.' ।। 1-158-47 ।।

english translation

purA kRtaM mahendrasya vajraM vRtra nibarhaNe dazadhA zatadhA caiva taca chIrNaM vRtramUrdhani || 1-158-47 ||

hk transliteration

ततॊ भागी कृतॊ देवैर वज्रभाग उपास्यते लॊके यत साधनं किं चित सा वै वज्रतनुः समृता ।। १-१५८-४८ ।।

sanskrit

'The celestials revere those fragments of the thunderbolt. What is known as glory in the three worlds is merely a fraction of the thunderbolt's power.' ।। 1-158-48 ।।

english translation

tatò bhAgI kRtò devaira vajrabhAga upAsyate lòke yata sAdhanaM kiM cita sA vai vajratanuH samRtA || 1-158-48 ||

hk transliteration

वज्रपाणिर बराह्मणः सयात कषत्रं वज्ररथं समृतम वैश्या वै दानवज्राश च कर्म वर्जा यवीयसः ।। १-१५८-४९ ।।

sanskrit

'The hand of the Brahmin offering libations, the chariot of the Kshatriya in battle, the philanthropy of the Vaishya, and the service of the Shudra to the other three classes—all represent fragments of the thunderbolt.' ।। 1-158-49 ।।

english translation

vajrapANira barAhmaNaH sayAta kaSatraM vajrarathaM samRtama vaizyA vai dAnavajrAza ca karma varjA yavIyasaH || 1-158-49 ||

hk transliteration

वज्रं कषत्रस्य वाजिनॊ अवध्या वाजिनः समृताः रथाङ्गं वडवा सूते सूताश चाश्वेषु ये मताः ।। १-१५८-५० ।।

sanskrit

'It's been stated that horses, being integral to the Kshatriya's chariot, are therefore invincible. Furthermore, these horses, descendants of Vadava, possess extraordinary capabilities.' ।। 1-158-50 ।।

english translation

vajraM kaSatrasya vAjinò avadhyA vAjinaH samRtAH rathAGgaM vaDavA sUte sUtAza cAzveSu ye matAH || 1-158-50 ||
