परापयिष्याम्य अहं तस्मै इदम अन्नं दुरात्मने मन्निमित्तं भयं चापि न कार्यम इति वीर्यवान ॥ १-१५२-१६ ॥

'I shall carry the food for that wretched Rakshasa today. Do not fear for me.' ॥ 1-152-16 ॥

english translation

parApayiSyAmya ahaM tasmai idama annaM durAtmane mannimittaM bhayaM cApi na kAryama iti vIryavAna ॥ 1-152-16 ॥

स तदन्नम उपादाय गतॊ बकवनं परति तेन नूनं भवेद एतत कर्म लॊकहितं कृतम ॥ १-१५२-१७ ॥

'Saying this, he conveyed the food towards the forest of Vaka. This deed, so beneficial to us all, has certainly been done by him.' ॥ 1-152-17 ॥

english translation

sa tadannama upAdAya gatò bakavanaM parati tena nUnaM bhaveda etata karma lòkahitaM kRtama ॥ 1-152-17 ॥

ततस ते बराह्मणाः सर्वे कषत्रियाश च सुविस्मिताः वैश्याः शूद्राश च मुदिताश चक्रुर बरह्म महं तदा ॥ १-१५२-१८ ॥

'Upon hearing this, the Brahmanas and Kshatriyas of the city were greatly astonished. The Vaisyas and the Sudras also rejoiced exceedingly.' ॥ 1-152-18 ॥

tatasa te barAhmaNAH sarve kaSatriyAza ca suvismitAH vaizyAH zUdrAza ca muditAza cakrura barahma mahaM tadA ॥ 1-152-18 ॥

ततॊ जानपदाः सर्वे आजग्मुर नगरं परति तद अद्भुततमं दरष्टुं पार्थास तत्रैव चावसन ॥ १-१५२-१९ ॥

'Together, they established a festival, with the worship of Brahmanas as the main ceremony, in honor of the Brahmana who had relieved them from their fears of Vaka.' ॥ 1-152-19 ॥

tatò jAnapadAH sarve Ajagmura nagaraM parati tada adbhutatamaM daraSTuM pArthAsa tatraiva cAvasana ॥ 1-152-19 ॥
