आपत्सु यॊ धारयति धरमं धर्मविद उत्तमः वयसनं हय एव धर्मस्य धर्मिणाम आपद उच्यते ॥ १-१४३-१४ ॥

'In times of distress, the one who upholds dharma is considered the best knower of dharma. Adversity is indeed said to be the test of dharma for the virtuous.' ॥ 1-143-14 ॥

Apatsu yò dhArayati dharamaM dharmavida uttamaH vayasanaM haya eva dharmasya dharmiNAma Apada ucyate ॥ 1-143-14 ॥
