तेन निद्रॊपरॊधेन साध्वसेन च पाण्डवाः न शेकुः सहसा गन्तुं सह मात्रा परंतपाः ॥ १-१३६-१६ ॥

'Due to the hindrance of sleep and fear, the Pandavas, Along with their mother, could not suddenly depart, O scorcher of foes.' ॥ 1-136-16 ॥

english translation

tena nidròparòdhena sAdhvasena ca pANDavAH na zekuH sahasA gantuM saha mAtrA paraMtapAH ॥ 1-136-16 ॥

भीमसेनस तु राजेन्द्र भीमवेगपराक्रमः जगाम भरातॄन आदाय सर्वान मातरम एव च ॥ १-१३६-१७ ॥

'O monarch, Bhimasena, possessing formidable strength and swift agility, carried his brothers and mother upon his body, forcefully making his way through the darkness.' ॥ 1-136-17 ॥

bhImasenasa tu rAjendra bhImavegaparAkramaH jagAma bharAtRRna AdAya sarvAna mAtarama eva ca ॥ 1-136-17 ॥

सकन्धम आरॊप्य जननीं यमाव अङ्केन वीर्यवान पार्थौ गृहीत्वा पाणिभ्यां भरातरौ सुमहाबलौ ॥ १-१३६-१८ ॥

'Taking his mother upon his shoulder, the mighty Partha, endued with prowess, and his exceedingly strong brothers, with his arms, crossed over (the river).' ॥ 1-136-18 ॥

sakandhama Aròpya jananIM yamAva aGkena vIryavAna pArthau gRhItvA pANibhyAM bharAtarau sumahAbalau ॥ 1-136-18 ॥

'Terrifying the trees with his footsteps, tearing apart the earth with his feet, that illustrious Bhima, the slayer of foes, swiftly proceeded on his way.' ॥ 1-136-19 ॥
