परयतिष्ये तथा कर्तुं यथा नान्यॊ धनुर्धरः तवत्समॊ भविता लॊके सत्यम एतद बरवीमि ते ॥ १-१२३-६ ॥
'I assure you that I will do whatever it takes to ensure that no archer in this world will surpass you.' ॥ 1-123-6 ॥
english translation
parayatiSye tathA kartuM yathA nAnyò dhanurdharaH tavatsamò bhavitA lòke satyama etada baravImi te ॥ 1-123-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततॊ दरॊणॊ ऽरजुनं भूयॊ रथेषु च गजेषु च अश्वेषु भूमाव अपि च रणशिक्षाम अशिक्षयत ॥ १-१२३-७ ॥
'Thereupon, Drona instructed Arjuna further in the art of warfare, both on chariots and on elephants, as well as on horseback and even on foot.' ॥ 1-123-7 ॥

tatò daròNò 'rajunaM bhUyò ratheSu ca gajeSu ca azveSu bhUmAva api ca raNazikSAma azikSayata ॥ 1-123-7 ॥

'And the mighty Drona also instructed Arjuna in fighting with the mace, the sword, the lance, the spear, and the dart.' ॥ 1-123-8 ॥

'Upon hearing of his skill, kings, and princes eager to master the art of warfare flocked to Drona in thousands.' ॥ 1-123-9 ॥

tasya tata kauzalaM dRSTvA dhanurveda jighRkSavaH rAjAnò rAjaputrAza ca samAjagmuH sahasrazaH ॥ 1-123-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततॊ निषादराजस्य हिरण्यधनुषः सुतः एकलब्यॊ महाराज दरॊणम अभ्याजगाम ह ॥ १-१२३-१० ॥
'There was a prince named Ekalavya, son of King Hiranyadhanus, ruler of the Nishadas, considered among the lowest of the mixed orders. Despite his potential, Drona, mindful of moral principles, refused to accept Ekalavya as his archery pupil, fearing that a Nishada might surpass his high-born students in skill.' ॥ 1-123-10 ॥
