भरद्वाजॊ ऽपि भगवान आरुरॊह दिवं तदा ततः पितृनियुक्तात्मा पुत्र लॊभान महायशाः शारद्वतीं ततॊ दरॊणः कृपीं भार्याम अविन्दत ॥ १-१२१-११ ॥
'At that time, the illustrious Bharadwaja ascended to heaven. Drona, remaining in his father's hermitage, dedicated himself to ascetic practices. Having mastered the Vedas and their ancillary texts and having cleansed his sins through penance, the renowned Drona, following his father's instructions and desiring progeny, married Kripi, the daughter of Saradwat.' ॥ 1-121-11 ॥
