सुप्तं चापि पुनः सर्पैस तीक्ष्णदंष्ट्रैर महाविषैः कुपितैर दंशयाम आस सर्वेष्व एवाङ्गमर्मसु ॥ १-११९-३६ ॥

'Even while asleep, he was bitten again by the fierce and poisonous snakes with their sharp fangs, causing pain in all parts of his body.' ॥ 1-119-36 ॥

english translation

suptaM cApi punaH sarpaisa tIkSNadaMSTraira mahAviSaiH kupitaira daMzayAma Asa sarveSva evAGgamarmasu ॥ 1-119-36 ॥

दंष्ट्राश च दंष्ट्रिणां तेषां मर्मस्व अपि निपातिताः तवचं नैवास्य बिभिदुः सारत्वात पृथुवक्षसः ॥ १-११९-३७ ॥

'The serpents had bitten all over his frame, except his chest, the skin of which was so tough that their fangs could not penetrate it.' ॥ 1-119-37 ॥

daMSTrAza ca daMSTriNAM teSAM marmasva api nipAtitAH tavacaM naivAsya bibhiduH sAratvAta pRthuvakSasaH ॥ 1-119-37 ॥

परतिबुद्धस तु भीमस तान सर्वान सर्पान अपॊथयत सारथिं चास्य दयितम अपहस्तेन जघ्निवान ॥ १-११९-३८ ॥

'But Bhima, having regained consciousness, destroyed all those snakes. He also killed the charioteer who had acted treacherously by his bare hands.' ॥ 1-119-38 ॥

paratibuddhasa tu bhImasa tAna sarvAna sarpAna apòthayata sArathiM cAsya dayitama apahastena jaghnivAna ॥ 1-119-38 ॥

भॊजने भीमसेनस्य पुनः पराक्षेपयद विषम कालकूटं नवं तीक्ष्णं संभृतं लॊमहर्षणम ॥ १-११९-३९ ॥

'Once again, Bhima cunningly mixed a potent poison, a new and sharp poison gathered from deadly herbs, into his food.' ॥ 1-119-39 ॥

वैश्यापुत्रस तदाचष्ट पार्थानां हितकाम्यया तच चापि भुक्त्वाजरयद अविकारॊ वृकॊदरः ॥ १-११९-४० ॥

'In his desire for the welfare of the sons of Pandu, he, the son of Vayu, consumed that food, unaffected by the poison.' ॥ 1-119-40 ॥
