याजकैर अभ्यनुज्ञातं परेतकर्मणि निष्ठितैः घृतावसिक्तं राजानं सह माद्र्या सवलंकृतम ।। १-११८-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'With the permission of the priests, well-versed in funeral rites, the king, anointed with clarified butter, was adorned alongside Madri.' ।। 1-118-21 ।।

english translation

yAjakaira abhyanujJAtaM paretakarmaNi niSThitaiH ghRtAvasiktaM rAjAnaM saha mAdryA savalaMkRtama || 1-118-21 ||

'When the other funeral ceremonies also were finished in consonance with the directions of the priests, the Kauravas set fire to the dead bodies of the king and the queen, bringing lotuses, sandal-paste, and other fragrant substances to the pyre.' ।। 1-118-22 ।।
