करॊशन्तः पाण्डवाः सर्वे भीष्मॊ विदुर एव च रमणीये वनॊद्देशे गङ्गातीरे समे शुभे ॥ १-११८-१६ ॥
'All the Pandavas, along with Bhishma and Vidura, were lamenting in the charming forest region, by the auspicious banks of the Ganges.' ॥ 1-118-16 ॥
english translation
karòzantaH pANDavAH sarve bhISmò vidura eva ca ramaNIye vanòddeze gaGgAtIre same zubhe ॥ 1-118-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनयासयाम आसुर अथ तां शिबिकां सत्यवादिनः सभार्यस्य नृसिंहस्य पाण्डॊर अक्लिष्टकर्मणः ॥ १-११८-१७ ॥
'There, they placed the bier upon which the noble and courageous prince and his spouse were laid.' ॥ 1-118-17 ॥

nayAsayAma Asura atha tAM zibikAM satyavAdinaH sabhAryasya nRsiMhasya pANDòra akliSTakarmaNaH ॥ 1-118-17 ॥

'They brought water in numerous golden vessels, washing the prince's body, which had been anointed with various fragrant pastes, before reapplying sandalwood paste.' ॥ 1-118-18 ॥

tatasa tasya zarIraM tata sarvagandhaniSevitama zuci kAlIyakAdigdhaM mukhyasnAnAdhivAsitama paryaSiJcaja jalenAzu zAtakumbhamayaira ghaTaiH ॥ 1-118-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचन्दनेन च मुख्येन शुक्लेन समलेपयन कालागुरुविमिश्रेण तथा तुङ्गरसेन च ॥ १-११८-१९ ॥
'They applied primarily sandalwood paste, mixed with white substances, as well as with musk and aromatic resin.' ॥ 1-118-19 ॥

'They clothed him in a white garment crafted from local textiles. Clad in this attire, the king appeared as though he were alive, merely resting on an opulent bed.' ॥ 1-118-20 ॥
