तासां वयुच्चरमाणानां कौमारात सुभगे पतीन नाधर्मॊ ऽभूद वरारॊहे स हि धर्मः पुराभवत ॥ १-११३-५ ॥

sanskrit

'They used to move about freely, enjoying themselves as they pleased, O one of excellent qualities. They did not then adhere faithfully to their husbands, yet, O handsome one, they were not considered sinful, for that was the sanctioned custom of the times.' ॥ 1-113-5 ॥

english translation

tAsAM vayuccaramANAnAM kaumArAta subhage patIna nAdharmò 'bhUda varAròhe sa hi dharmaH purAbhavata ॥ 1-113-5 ॥
