इमां च तावद धर्म्यां तवं पौराणीं शृणु मे कथाम परिश्रुतां विशालाक्ष कीर्तयिष्यामि याम अहम ।। १-११२-६ ।।

'O virtuous one, listen to this ancient narrative from the Puranas that I have heard and shall now narrate to you, O one with large eyes.' ।। 1-112-6 ।।

english translation

imAM ca tAvada dharmyAM tavaM paurANIM zRNu me kathAma parizrutAM vizAlAkSa kIrtayiSyAmi yAma ahama || 1-112-6 ||

hk transliteration

वयुषिताश्व इति खयातॊ बभूव किल पार्थिवः पुरा परमधर्मिष्ठः पूरॊर वंशविवर्धनः ।। १-११२-७ ।।

sanskrit

'The renowned king was known as Vayushitashva and was a descendant of Puru, the foremost in upholding righteousness, and the one who enhanced the glory of his lineage in the past.' ।। 1-112-7 ।।

english translation

vayuSitAzva iti khayAtò babhUva kila pArthivaH purA paramadharmiSThaH pUròra vaMzavivardhanaH || 1-112-7 ||

तस्मिंश च यजमाने वै धर्मात्मनि महात्मनि उपागमंस ततॊ देवाः सेन्द्राः सह महर्षिभिः ।। १-११२-८ ।।

sanskrit

'Once, during a sacrificial ritual performed by the virtuous and mighty-armed king, the gods, along with Indra and the great sages, appeared before him.' ।। 1-112-8 ।।

english translation

tasmiMza ca yajamAne vai dharmAtmani mahAtmani upAgamaMsa tatò devAH sendrAH saha maharSibhiH || 1-112-8 ||

अमाद्यद इन्द्रः सॊमेन दक्षिणाभिर दविजातयः वयुषिताश्वस्य राजर्षेस ततॊ यज्ञे महात्मनः ।। १-११२-९ ।।

sanskrit

'Intoxicated by the Soma juice he drank and the generous gifts bestowed by the Brahmanas, Indra, along with the other gods and the great Rishis, took over the duties of the sacrificial ritual, performing all its rites on behalf of the illustrious royal sage Vayushitasva.' ।। 1-112-9 ।।

english translation

amAdyada indraH sòmena dakSiNAbhira davijAtayaH vayuSitAzvasya rAjarSesa tatò yajJe mahAtmanaH || 1-112-9 ||

hk transliteration

वयुषिताश्वस ततॊ राजन्न अति मर्त्यान वयरॊचत सर्वभूतान्य अति यथा तपनः शिशिरात्यये ।। १-११२-१० ।।

sanskrit

'And then Vyushitasva began to shine among men more brightly than the sun emerging with double brilliance after the season of frost has passed.' ।। 1-112-10 ।।

english translation

vayuSitAzvasa tatò rAjanna ati martyAna vayaròcata sarvabhUtAnya ati yathA tapanaH zizirAtyaye || 1-112-10 ||
