[व] एवम उक्ता महाराज कुन्ती पाण्डुम अभाषत कुरूणाम ऋषभं वीरं तदा भूमिपतिं पतिम ॥ १-११२-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana narrated, 'In response, Kunti addressed her courageous husband, King Pandu, the foremost among the Kurus, as follows:' ॥ 1-112-1 ॥
english translation
न माम अर्हसि धर्मज्ञ वक्तुम एवं कथं चन धर्मपत्नीम अभिरतां तवयि राजीवलॊचन ॥ १-११२-२ ॥
'O virtuous one, it is not fitting for you to say such to me. I am your wedded wife, devoted to you, O lotus-eyed one.' ॥ 1-112-2 ॥
english translation
तवम एव तु महाबाहॊ मय्य अपत्यानि भारत वीर वीर्यॊपपन्नानि धर्मतॊ जनयिष्यसि ॥ १-११२-३ ॥
'O Bharata of mighty arms, you shall, in righteousness, beget upon me children endowed with great valor.' ॥ 1-112-3 ॥

सवर्गं मनुजशार्दूल गच्छेयं सहिता तवया अपत्याय च मां गच्छ तवम एव कुरुनन्दन ॥ १-११२-४ ॥
'Then, O prince of the Kuru lineage, I shall ascend to heaven with you. Embrace me for the sake of bearing children.' ॥ 1-112-4 ॥
english translation
न हय अहं मनसाप्य अन्यं गच्छेयं तवदृते नरम तवत्तः परतिविशिष्टश च कॊ ऽनयॊ ऽसति भुवि मानवः ॥ १-११२-५ ॥
'I shall not, even in my thoughts, entertain the idea of accepting any other man in my embrace. Who else in this world is superior to you?' ॥ 1-112-5 ॥
