तयजेद एकं कुलस्यार्थे गरामस्यार्थे कुलं तयजेत गरामं जनपदस्यार्थे आत्मार्थे पृथिवीं तयजेत ॥ १-१०७-३२ ॥

'If you seek the welfare of your lineage, abandon him, O Bharata! O king, benefit the world and your lineage by letting go of this one child of yours. It is said that for the sake of the family, an individual may be forsaken; for the sake of the village, the family may be forsaken; for the sake of the entire country, the village may be abandoned; and for the sake of one's soul, the entire earth may be renounced.' ॥ 1-107-32 ॥
