स तथान्तर गतेनैव शूलेन वयचरन मुनिः स तेन तपसा लॊकान विजिग्ये दुर्लभान परैः अणी माण्डव्य इति च ततॊ लॊकेषु कथ्यते ॥ १-१०१-२१ ॥

'The sage, with a fragment of the stake embedded in his body, continued his ascetic practices while traversing various realms, which remained beyond reach for others. This unique condition earned him the name "Ani-Mandavya" (Mandavya with the stake within) in the three worlds.' ॥ 1-101-21 ॥

sa tathAntara gatenaiva zUlena vayacarana muniH sa tena tapasA lòkAna vijigye durlabhAna paraiH aNI mANDavya iti ca tatò lòkeSu kathyate ॥ 1-101-21 ॥
