ऋषिभिश च तदानीता धार्तराष्ट्रान परति सवयम शिशवश चाभिरूपाश च जटिला बरह्मचारिणः ॥ १-१-७१॥
'The Rishis guided them into the presence of Dhritarashtra and his sons, where they appeared as students adhering to the Brahmachari lifestyle, with their hair neatly tied in knots on their heads.' ॥ 1-1-71 ॥
english translation
पुत्राश च भरातरश चेमे शिष्याश च सुहृदश च वः पाण्डवा एत इत्य उक्त्वा मुनयॊ ऽनतर्हितास ततः ॥ १-१-७२॥
" 'These our pupils', said they, 'are as your sons, brothers, and friends; they are Pandavas.'Saying this, the Munis disappeared." ॥ 1-1-72 ॥
english translation
तांस तैर निवेदितान दृष्ट्वा पाण्डवान कौरवास तदा शिष्टाश च वर्णाः पौरा ये ते हर्षाच चुक्रुशुर भृशम ॥ १-१-७३॥
'When the Kauravas saw them introduced as the sons of Pandu, the distinguished class of citizens shouted exceedingly for joy.' ॥ 1-1-73 ॥
english translation
आहुः के चिन न तस्यैते तस्यैत इति चापरे यदा चिरमृतः पाण्डुः कथं तस्येति चापरे ॥ १-१-७४॥
'Some, however, said, they were not the sons of Pandu; others said, they were; while a few asked how they could be his offspring, seeing he had been so long dead.' ॥ 1-1-74 ॥
english translation
सवागतं सर्वथा दिष्ट्या पाण्डॊः पश्याम संततिम उच्यतां सवागतम इति वाचॊ ऽशरूयन्त सर्वशः ॥ १-१-७५॥
'Still, on all sides, voices were heard crying, 'They are welcome!' ॥ 1-1-75 ॥
