वैन्यं महारथं वीरं सृञ्जयं जयतां वरम सुहॊत्रं रन्ति देवं च कक्षीवन्तं तथौशिजम ॥ १-१-१६६ ॥
'Among them were the courageous Saivya, the formidable Maharatha, the victorious Srinjaya, the illustrious Suhotra, the benevolent Rantideva, and the glorious Kakshivanta.'॥ 1-1-166 ॥

vainyaM mahArathaM vIraM sRJjayaM jayatAM varama suhòtraM ranti devaM ca kakSIvantaM tathauzijama ॥ 1-1-166 ॥

'Valhika, Damana, Saryati, Ajita, and Nala; the formidable Viswamitra, a vanquisher of foes; and the mighty Ambarisha, renowned for his strength.'॥ 1-1-167 ॥

'Yayati, renowned for his virtuous deeds, conducted sacred ceremonies with the direct assistance of celestial beings. The earth, adorned by his sacrificial altars and ceremonial stakes, bears the marks of his rituals across its inhabited and uninhabited expanses.'॥ 1-1-169 ॥
