वैन्यं महारथं वीरं सृञ्जयं जयतां वरम सुहॊत्रं रन्ति देवं च कक्षीवन्तं तथौशिजम ॥ १-१-१६६ ॥
'Among them were the courageous Saivya, the formidable Maharatha, the victorious Srinjaya, the illustrious Suhotra, the benevolent Rantideva, and the glorious Kakshivanta.'॥ 1-1-166 ॥

बाह्लीकं दमनं शैब्यं शर्यातिम अजितं जितम विश्वामित्रम अमित्रघ्नम अम्बरीषं महाबलम ॥ १-१-१६७ ॥
'Valhika, Damana, Saryati, Ajita, and Nala; the formidable Viswamitra, a vanquisher of foes; and the mighty Ambarisha, renowned for his strength.'॥ 1-1-167 ॥

मरुत्तं मनुम इक्ष्वाकुं गयं भरतम एव च रामं दाशरथिं चैव शशबिन्दुं भगीरथम ॥ १-१-१६८ ॥

ययातिं शुभकर्माणं देवैर यॊ याजितः सवयम चैत्ययूपाङ्किता भूमिर यस्येयं सवनाकरा ॥ १-१-१६९ ॥
'Yayati, renowned for his virtuous deeds, conducted sacred ceremonies with the direct assistance of celestial beings. The earth, adorned by his sacrificial altars and ceremonial stakes, bears the marks of his rituals across its inhabited and uninhabited expanses.'॥ 1-1-169 ॥

इति राज्ञां चतुर्विंशन नारदेन सुरर्षिणा पुत्रशॊकाभितप्ताय पुरा शैब्याय कीर्तिताः ॥ १-१-१७० ॥
'Thus, narrated by the celestial sage Narada, out of compassion for the king who was overwhelmed by grief for his sons, these twenty-four kings were described in ancient times.'॥ 1-1-170 ॥
