तस्यां काक्षीवद आदीन स शूद्रयॊनाव ऋषिर वशी जनयाम आस धर्मात्मा पुत्रान एकादशैव तु ॥ १-९८-२६ ॥
'And upon that Sudra woman the virtuous Rishi of passions under full control begat eleven children of whom Kakshivat was the eldest.' ॥ 1-98-26 ॥
english translation
काक्षीवद आदीन पुत्रांस तान दृष्ट्वा सर्वान अधीयतः उवाच तम ऋषिं राजा ममैत इति वीर्यवाः ॥ १-९८-२७ ॥
'And upon seeing those eleven sons, with Kakshivat as the eldest, who had mastered all the Vedas and were like sages in their knowledge of Brahma, possessing great power, King Vali asked the sage one day, "Are these children mine?"' The Rishi replied, 'No, they are mine.' ॥ 1-98-27 ॥
english translation
नेत्य उवाच महर्षिस तं ममैवैत इति बरुवन शूद्रयॊनौ मया हीमे जाताः काक्षीवद आदयः ॥ १-९८-२८ ॥
'The great sage replied, "No," and said, "They are mine." Born in the Sudra caste through my divine power, Kakshivat and the others are."' ॥ 1-98-28 ॥
english translation
अन्धं वृद्धं च मां मत्वा सुदेष्णा महिषी तव अवमन्य ददौ मूढा शूद्रां धात्रेयिकां हि मे ॥ १-९८-२९ ॥
'Your unfortunate queen Sudeshna, upon seeing me blind and old, insulted me by not coming herself but sending her nurse instead.' ॥ 1-98-29 ॥
english translation
ततः परसादयाम आस पुनस तम ऋषिसत्तमम बलिः सुदेष्णां भार्यां च तस्मै तां पराहिणॊत पुनः ॥ १-९८-३० ॥
'The king then pacified that best of Rishis and sent unto him his queen Sudeshna.' ॥ 1-98-30 ॥
