तं तु राजा बलिर नाम सर्वधर्मविशारदः अपश्यन मज्जन गतः सरॊतसाभ्याशम आगतम ।। १-९८-२१ ।।

'King Bali, known for his profound understanding of all duties, saw him as he was coming to the shore, having drifted in the waters.' ।। 1-98-21 ।।

taM tu rAjA balira nAma sarvadharmavizAradaH apazyana majjana gataH saròtasAbhyAzama Agatama || 1-98-21 ||

जग्राह चैनं धर्मात्मा बलिः सत्यपराक्रमः जञात्वा चैनं स वव्रे ऽथ पुत्रार्थं मनुजर्षभ ।। १-९८-२२ ।।

'While the monarch was occupied with this, the raft to which the sage was tied drifted towards him. As it approached, the king rescued the old man. Vali, devoted to truth, upon learning the identity of the man he had saved, then selected him for begetting offspring.' ।। 1-98-22 ।।

jagrAha cainaM dharmAtmA baliH satyaparAkramaH jaJAtvA cainaM sa vavre 'tha putrArthaM manujarSabha || 1-98-22 ||
