स विवर्णरूपः पाण्डुः शापं परिहरमाणॊ नॊपासर्पत भार्ये ॥ १-९०-६६ ॥
'Pandu, hearing this curse, became pale, and from that time would not go in unto his wives.' ॥ 1-90-66 ॥
english translation
वाक्यं चॊवाच सवचापल्याद इदं पराप्तवान अहम शृणॊमि च नानपत्यस्य लॊका सन्तीति ॥ १-९०-६७ ॥
'He conveyed to them, "I have incurred this curse due to my actions! However, I've heard that for those without offspring, there are no realms in the afterlife."' ॥ 1-90-67 ॥

सा तवं मदर्थे पुत्रान उत्पादयेति कुन्तीम उवाच ॥ १-९०-६८ ॥
'Therefore, he solicited Kunti to have offspring raised for him.' ॥ 1-90-68 ॥

सा तत्र पुत्रान उत्पादयाम आस धर्माद युधिष्ठिरं मारुताद भीमसेनं शक्राद अर्जुनम इति ॥ १-९०-६९ ॥
'And Kunti said, 'Let it be', So she raised up offspring. By Dharma she had Yudhishthira; by Maruta, Bhima: and by Sakra, Arjuna.' ॥ 1-90-69 ॥

स तां हृष्टरूपः पाण्डुर उवाच इयं ते सपत्न्यनपत्या साध्व अस्याम अपत्यम उत्पाद्यताम इति ॥ १-९०-७० ॥
'Pandu, delighted, spoke to her, saying, "Your co-wife is also without offspring. Therefore, let her also bear children."' ॥ 1-90-70 ॥
