मतिनारस ततॊ राजा विद्वांश चर्चेपुतॊ ऽभवत मतिनार सुता राजंश चत्वारॊ ऽमितविक्रमाः तंसुर महान अतिरथॊ दरुह्युश चाप्रतिमद्युतिः ॥ १-८९-११ ॥
'Anadhristi had a son named Matinara, who rose to fame as a virtuous king and conducted both the Rajasuya and the horse sacrifice. Matinara was blessed with four sons of immense valor: Tansu, Mahan, Atiratha, and Druhyu, each renowned for their extraordinary glory.' ॥ 1-89-11 ॥

तेषां तंसुर महावीर्यः पौरवं वंशम उद्वहन आजहार यशॊ दीप्तं जिगाय च वसुंधराम ॥ १-८९-१२ ॥
'Tansu, endowed with immense prowess, became the progenitor of the Puru dynasty. He conquered the entire earth, attaining vast renown and glory.' ॥ 1-89-12 ॥

इलिनं तु सुतं तंसुर जनयाम आस वीर्यवान सॊ ऽपि कृत्स्नाम इमां भूमिं विजिग्ये जयतां वरः ॥ १-८९-१३ ॥
'And Tansu begat a son of great prowess named Ilina. And he became the foremost of all conquerors and brought the whole world under his subjection.' ॥ 1-89-13 ॥

रथंतर्यां सुतान पञ्च पञ्च भूतॊपमांस ततः इलिनॊ जनयाम आस दुःषन्तप्रभृतीन नृप ॥ १-८९-१४ ॥
'And Ilina begat upon his wife Rathantara five sons with Dushmanta at their head, all equal in might unto the five elements. They were Dushmanta, Sura, Bhima, Pravasu, and Vasu.' ॥ 1-89-14 ॥

दुःषन्तं शूर भीमौ च परपूर्वं वसुम एव च तेषां जयेष्ठॊ ऽभवद राजा दुःषन्तॊ जनमेजय ॥ १-८९-१५ ॥
'O Janamejaya, Dushmanta, the eldest among them, ascended the throne as king.' ॥ 1-89-15 ॥
