[ज] भगवञ शरॊतुम इच्छामि पूरॊर वंशकरान नृपान यद वीर्या यादृशाश चैव यावन्तॊ यत पराक्रमाः ।। १-८९-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Janamejaya said, 'O revered one, I am eager to learn about the kings who hailed from the lineage of Puru. Please recount to me their tales, focusing on their valor and accomplishments.'' ।। 1-89-1 ।।

'For in this lineage, there has never been a king who was devoid of character or valor, nor has there been a ruler without subjects, at any time in the past.' ।। 1-89-2 ।।

'Puru, with his wife Paushti, had three sons: Pravira, Iswara, and Raudraswa, all renowned as mighty warriors of the chariot. Among these, Pravira stood out as the one who continued the lineage.' ।। 1-89-5 ।।
