न चापि तवां धृष्णुमः परष्टुम अग्रे; न च तवम अस्मान पृच्छसि ये वयं समः तत तवां पृच्छामः सपृहणीय रूपं; कस्य तवं वा किंनिमित्तं तवम आगाः ॥ १-८३-१० ॥

'We neither intend to offend you by questioning you openly, nor do you inquire of us who are your equals. Therefore, we ask you in a respectful manner: What is your divine form, and for what reason have you descended here?' ॥ 1-83-10 ॥

english translation

na cApi tavAM dhRSNumaH paraSTuma agre; na ca tavama asmAna pRcchasi ye vayaM samaH tata tavAM pRcchAmaH sapRhaNIya rUpaM; kasya tavaM vA kiMnimittaM tavama AgAH ॥ 1-83-10 ॥
