तरय एवाधना राजन भार्या दासस तथा सुतः यत ते समधिपच्छन्ति यस्य ते तस्य तद धनम ॥ १-७७-२२ ॥

sanskrit

'"It is said, O king, that a wife, a slave, and a son cannot acquire wealth for themselves. Whatever they earn always belongs to their owner."' ॥ 1-77-22 ॥

english translation

taraya evAdhanA rAjana bhAryA dAsasa tathA sutaH yata te samadhipacchanti yasya te tasya tada dhanama ॥ 1-77-22 ॥
