आपॊ देवगणाः सर्वे आपः पितृगणास तथा दर्शश च पौर्णमासश च देवानां पितृभिः सह ॥ १-७-८ ॥
'The Devas are synonymous with the waters, just as the Pitris are also associated with the waters. In the rituals known as Darshas and Purnamasas, the Devas and the Pitris share an equal claim. '॥ 1-7-8 ॥
