[दुह] इच्छामि तवां वरारॊहे भजमानाम अनिन्दिते तवदर्थं मां सथितं विद्धि तवद्गतं हि मनॊ मम ॥ १-६७-६ ॥
'Dushmanta responded, 'O radiant and flawless beauty, I wish for you to be the companion of my life. Understand that I live for you, and my heart belongs to you. Indeed, one is their own best friend, and it's upon oneself that one can truly rely.'' ॥ 1-67-6 ॥
english translation
आत्मनॊ बन्धुर आत्मैव गतिर आत्मैव चात्मनः आत्मनैवात्मनॊ दानं कर्तुम अर्हसि धर्मतः ॥ १-६७-७ ॥
'You are your own best friend, your refuge, and your own goal. Therefore, by righteousness, you should engage in acts of kindness to yourself.' ॥ 1-67-7 ॥
english translation
अष्टाव एव समासेन विवाहा धर्मतः समृताः बराह्मॊ दैवस तथैवार्षः पराजापत्यस तथासुरः ॥ १-६७-८ ॥
'There are, in all, eight kinds of marriages. These are Brahma, Daiva, Arsha, Prajapatya, Asura.' ॥ 1-67-8 ॥

गान्धर्वॊ राक्षसश चैव पैशाचश चाष्टमः समृतः तेषां धर्मान यथापूर्वं मनुः सवायम्भुवॊ ऽबरवीत ॥ १-६७-९ ॥
'Gandharva, Rakshasa, and Paisacha are the seventh, eighth, and ninth forms of marriage recognized in the ancient scriptures. Manu, the self-existent one, proclaimed their respective dharmas as prescribed in the past.' ॥ 1-67-9 ॥

परशस्तांश चतुरः पूर्वान बराह्मणस्यॊपधारय षड आनुपूर्व्या कषत्रस्य विद्धि धर्मान अनिन्दिते ॥ १-६७-१० ॥
'Know, O faultless one, that the first four of these are fit for Brahmanas, and the first six for Kshatriyas.' ॥ 1-67-10 ॥
