महाभागं वसिष्ठं यः पुत्रैर इष्टैर वययॊजयत कषत्रे जातश च यः पूर्वम अभवद बराह्मणॊ बलात ॥ १-६५-२९ ॥
'He it was who made even the illustrious Vasishtha bear the pangs of witnessing the premature death of his children. He was who, though at first born as Kshatriya, subsequently became a Brahmana by his ascetic penances.' ॥ 1-65-29 ॥
