सुरसाजनयन नागान राजन कद्रूश च पन्नगान सप्त पिण्ड फलान वृक्षान अनलापि वयजायत अनलायाः शुकी पुत्री कद्र्वास तु सुरसा सुता ॥ १-६०-६६ ॥
'Surasajanayana produced snakes, Rajan Kadru also (produced) serpents, Seven clumps of trees produced fruits, even Anala was born, Anala's daughter was Shuki, and Surasa's son was Kadruva.' ॥ 1-60-66 ॥

अरुणस्य भार्या शयेनी तु वीर्यवन्तौ महाबलौ संपातिं जनयाम आस तथैव च जटायुषम दवौ पुत्रौ विनतायास तु विख्यातौ गरुडारुणौ ॥ १-६०-६७ ॥
'And Syeni, the wife of Aruna, gave birth to two sons of great energy and strength, named Sampati and the mighty Jatayu. Surasa also bore the Nagas, and Kadru, the Punnagas (snakes). And Vinata had two sons Garuda and Aruna, known far and wide.' ॥ 1-60-67 ॥

इत्य एष सर्वभूतानां महतां मनुजाधिप परभवः कीर्तितः सम्यङ मया मतिमतां वर ॥ १-६०-६८ ॥
'O sovereign of humanity, foremost among the wise, I have thus comprehensively recounted the lineage of all principal beings to you.' ॥ 1-60-68 ॥

यं शरुत्वा पुरुषः सम्यक पूतॊ भवति पाप्मनः सर्वज्ञतां च लभते गतिम अग्र्यां च विन्दति ॥ १-६०-६९ ॥
'By hearkening to this, an individual is completely absolved of all sins, attains profound wisdom, and ultimately reaches the highest state in the hereafter!' ॥ 1-60-69 ॥
