न च पित्रा विभज्यन्ते नरा गुरुहिते रताः युञ्जते धुरि नॊ गाश च कृशाः संधुक्षयन्ति च ॥ १-५७-११ ॥

sanskrit

'Sons, mindful of their parents' welfare, never divide their wealth with their fathers. Furthermore, lean cattle are never harnessed to the plough, cart, or engaged in carrying merchandise; instead, they are well-fed and fattened.' ॥ 1-57-11 ॥

english translation

na ca pitrA vibhajyante narA guruhite ratAH yuJjate dhuri nò gAza ca kRzAH saMdhukSayanti ca ॥ 1-57-11 ॥
