नातिभारॊ हि पार्थस्य केशवेनाभवत सह वयवसायसहायस्य विष्णॊः शत्रुवधेष्व इव ॥ १-५५-३६ ॥
'And to Arjuna, assisted as he was by Kesava, the task did not at all appear heavy even as nothing is heavy to Vishnu with immense design and resources in the matter of destroying his enemies.' ॥ 1-55-36 ॥
english translation
पार्थायाग्निर ददौ चापि गाण्डीवं धनुर उत्तमम इषुधी चाक्षयैर बाणै रथं च कपिलक्षणम ॥ १-५५-३७ ॥
'Agni bestowed upon the son of Pritha the magnificent Gandiva bow, an inexhaustible quiver, and a war-chariot adorned with the figure of Garuda on its standard.' ॥ 1-55-37 ॥
english translation
मॊक्षयाम आस बीभत्सुर मयं तत्र महासुरम स चकार सभां दिव्यां सर्वरत्नसमाचिताम ॥ १-५५-३८ ॥
'And it was on this occasion that Arjuna relieved the great Asura (Maya) from fear (of being consumed in the fire). And Maya, in gratitude, built (for the Pandavas) a celestial palace decked with every sort of jewels and precious stones.' ॥ 1-55-38 ॥

तस्यां दुर्यॊधनॊ मन्दॊ लॊभं चक्रे सुदुर्मतिः ततॊ ऽकषैर वञ्चयित्वा च सौबलेन युधिष्ठिरम ॥ १-५५-३९ ॥
'Upon beholding that magnificent building, the wicked Duryodhana was consumed by the desire to possess it. He then proceeded to deceive Yudhishthira by manipulating the dice through the hands of the son of Suvala.' ॥ 1-55-39 ॥
english translation
वनं परस्थापयाम आस सप्त वर्षाणि पञ्च च अज्ञातम एकं राष्ट्रे च तथा वर्षं तरयॊ दशम ॥ १-५५-४० ॥
'Duryodhana sent the Pandavas into the woods for twelve years and one additional year to be passed in concealment, thus making the period full thirteen.' ॥ 1-55-40 ॥
