[स] आस्तीकेनैवम उक्तस तु राजा पारिक्षितस तदा पुनः पुनर उवाचेदम आस्तीकं वदतां वरम ॥ १-५१-२१ ॥
'Sauti continued, 'The son of Parikshit, being thus addressed by Astika, repeatedly said this unto that foremost of speakers.' ॥ 1-51-21 ॥
english translation
अन्यं वरय भद्रं ते वरं दविज वरॊत्तम अयाचत न चाप्य अन्यं वरं स भृगुनन्दन ॥ १-५१-२२ ॥
'O best among Brahmanas, request any other boon. O blessed one, be pleased!" However, O descendant of Bhrigu, he did not seek any additional boon.' ॥ 1-51-22 ॥

ततॊ वेदविदस तत्र सदस्याः सर्व एव तम राजानम ऊचुः सहिता लभतां बराह्मणॊ वरम ॥ १-५१-२३ ॥
'In unison, the Sadasyas, who were well-versed in the Vedas, spoke to the king, "Grant the Brahmana his boon!"' ॥ 1-51-23 ॥
