तपस्वी च यशस्वी च शरुतवान बरह्मवित्तमः धर्मिष्ठः सत्यवादी च नियतॊ नियतेन्द्रियः ।। १-५-९ ।।

sanskrit

'He was devoted to asceticism, of great reputation, proficient in law, and eminent among those knowing the Vedas. He was virtuous, truthful, and of well-regulated fare.' ।। 1-5-9 ।।

english translation

tapasvI ca yazasvI ca zarutavAna barahmavittamaH dharmiSThaH satyavAdI ca niyatò niyatendriyaH || 1-5-9 ||
