न बुबॊध हि तं राजा मौन वरतधरं मुनिम स तं मन्युसमाविष्टॊ धर्षयाम आस ते पिता ।। १-४५-२६ ।।

'Indeed, the king knew not that he was a Muni observing the vow of silence. Swayed by anger, thy father insulted him.' ।। 1-45-26 ।।

english translation

na bubòdha hi taM rAjA mauna varatadharaM munima sa taM manyusamAviSTò dharSayAma Asa te pitA || 1-45-26 ||

मृतं सर्पं धनुष्कॊट्या समुत्क्षिप्य धरातलात तस्य शुद्धात्मनः परादात सकन्धे भरतसत्तम ।। १-४५-२७ ।।

'O illustrious scion of the Bharata lineage, thy father, the king, lifted the lifeless snake from the ground using the tip of his bow and placed it upon the shoulders of that sage of immaculate soul.' ।। 1-45-27 ।।

english translation

mRtaM sarpaM dhanuSkòTyA samutkSipya dharAtalAta tasya zuddhAtmanaH parAdAta sakandhe bharatasattama || 1-45-27 ||

न चॊवाच स मेधावी तम अथॊ साध्व असाधु वा तस्थौ तथैव चाक्रुध्यन सर्पं सकन्धेन धारयन ।। १-४५-२८ ।।

'But the Muni spake, not a word good or bad and was without anger. He continued in the same posture, bearing the dead snake.' ।। 1-45-28 ।।

na còvAca sa medhAvI tama athò sAdhva asAdhu vA tasthau tathaiva cAkrudhyana sarpaM sakandhena dhArayana || 1-45-28 ||
