ततॊ राजा ससचिवः फलान्य आदातुम ऐच्छत यद गृहीतं फलं राज्ञा तत्र कृमिर अभूद अणुः हरस्वकः कृष्ण नयनस ताम्रॊ वर्णेन शौनक ।। १-३९-२९ ।।

sanskrit

'Impelled by Fate and the words of the Rishi, the king, with his ministers, felt the desire to eat those fruits. The particular fruit, within which Takshaka had entered, was taken by the king himself for eating. And when he was eating it, there appeared, O Saunaka, an ugly insect out of it, of shape scarcely discernible, of eyes black, and of coppery color.' ।। 1-39-29 ।।

english translation

tatò rAjA sasacivaH phalAnya AdAtuma aicchata yada gRhItaM phalaM rAjJA tatra kRmira abhUda aNuH harasvakaH kRSNa nayanasa tAmrò varNena zaunaka || 1-39-29 ||
