यद एलापत्रेण वचस तदॊक्तं भुजगेन ह पन्नगानां हितं देवास तत तथा न तद अन्यथा ।। १-३५-११ ।।

sanskrit

'O gods, what has been spoken by the serpent Elapatra for the well-being of the snakes is indeed true and not otherwise.' ।। 1-35-11 ।।

english translation

yada elApatreNa vacasa tadòktaM bhujagena ha pannagAnAM hitaM devAsa tata tathA na tada anyathA || 1-35-11 ||

hk transliteration

[स] एतच छरुत्वा स नागेन्द्रः पितामहवचस तदा सर्पान बनूञ जरत्कारौ नित्ययुक्तान समादधत ।। १-३५-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'Sauti continued, 'Then the king of the snakes, Vasuki, afflicted with the curse of his mother, hearing these words of the Grandsire, and intending to bestow his sister of the Rishi Jaratkaru, commanded all the serpents.' ।। 1-35-12 ।।

english translation

[sa] etaca charutvA sa nAgendraH pitAmahavacasa tadA sarpAna banUJa jaratkArau nityayuktAna samAdadhata || 1-35-12 ||

hk transliteration

जरत्कारुर यदा भार्याम इच्छेद वरयितुं परभुः शीघ्रम एत्य ममाख्येयं तन नः शरेयॊ भविष्यति ।। १-३५-१३ ।।

sanskrit

'A large number of whom were ever attentive to their duties, to watch the Rishi Jaratkaru, saying, 'When the lord Jaratkaru will ask for a wife, come immediately and inform me of it. The weal of our race depends upon it.' ।। 1-35-13 ।।

english translation

jaratkArura yadA bhAryAma iccheda varayituM parabhuH zIghrama etya mamAkhyeyaM tana naH zareyò bhaviSyati || 1-35-13 ||
