तम उवाचेन्द्रम आक्रन्दे गरुडः पततां वरः परहसञ शलक्ष्णया वाचा तथा वज्रसमाहतः ॥ १-१९-१८ ॥
'And while that foremost of all rangers of the skies, that first of winged creatures, Garuda, was coursing through the air after wresting the Amrita, Indra hurled at him his thunderbolt.' ॥ 1-29-18 ॥
