तवम एवैकस तपसे जातवेदॊ; नान्यस तप्ता विद्यते गॊषु देव ऋषीन अस्मान बालकान पालयस्व; परेणास्मान परैहि वै हव्यवाह ॥ १-२२३-११ ॥

sanskrit

'We seek protection from you. You alone, O Agni, are the giver of heat in the universe. O Lord, there is none other than you who provides heat to the sun's rays. Protect us, who are young and who are sages. O Havyavaha (carrier of sacrificial butter), please depart by another path.' ॥ 1-223-11 ॥

english translation

tavama evaikasa tapase jAtavedò; nAnyasa taptA vidyate gòSu deva RSIna asmAna bAlakAna pAlayasva; pareNAsmAna paraihi vai havyavAha ॥ 1-223-11 ॥
