हरियमाणे धने तस्मिन बराह्मणः करॊधमूर्च्छितः आगम्य खाण्डव परस्थम उदक्रॊशत पाण्डवान ॥ १-२०५-६ ॥
'Enraged and bereft of his senses, the Brahmana went to Khandavaprastha and began to lament to the Pandavas in sorrowful tones.' ॥ 1-205-6 ॥

hariyamANe dhane tasmina barAhmaNaH karòdhamUrcchitaH Agamya khANDava parasthama udakròzata pANDavAna ॥ 1-205-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहरियते गॊधनं कषुद्रैर नृशंसैर अकृतात्मभिः परसह्य वॊ ऽसमाद विषयाद अभिधावत पाण्डवाः ॥ १-२०५-७ ॥
'Due to the vile and heartless thieves stealing his cows and meager wealth, the Brahmana, distressed, approached the Pandavas seeking help.' ॥ 1-205-7 ॥

hariyate gòdhanaM kaSudraira nRzaMsaira akRtAtmabhiH parasahya vò 'samAda viSayAda abhidhAvata pANDavAH ॥ 1-205-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबराह्मणस्य परमत्तस्य हविर धवाङ्क्षैर विलुप्यते शार्दूलस्य गुहां शून्यां नीचः करॊष्टाभिमर्शति ॥ १-२०५-८ ॥
'Chase after the thieves! Alas, the sacred butter of a peaceful Brahmana is being taken away by crows! Alas, the wretched jackal intrudes upon the empty den of a lion!' ॥ 1-205-8 ॥

barAhmaNasya paramattasya havira dhavAGkSaira vilupyate zArdUlasya guhAM zUnyAM nIcaH karòSTAbhimarzati ॥ 1-205-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबराह्मण सवे हृते चॊरैर धर्मार्थे च विलॊपिते रॊरूयमाणे च मयि करियताम अस्त्रधारणम ॥ १-२०५-९ ॥
'In times when the learned are persecuted, virtue is trampled, and the righteous are left lamenting, one must rise to defend what is just.' ॥ 1-205-9 ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptरॊरूयमाणस्याभ्याशे तस्य विप्रस्य पाण्डवः तानि वाक्यानि शुश्राव कुन्तीपुत्रॊ धनंजयः ॥ १-२०५-१० ॥
'In the vicinity of that weeping Brahmana, the Pandava, Kunti's son Dhananjaya (Arjuna), heard those words.' ॥ 1-205-10 ॥
