[वै] परतिगृह्य तु तद वाक्यं नृपं सर्वे परणम्य च परतस्थिरे ततॊ घॊरं वनं तन मनुजर्षभाः अर्धं राज्यस्य संप्राप्य खाण्डव परस्थम आविशन ।। १-१९९-२६ ।।

'Vaisampayana continued, 'Concurring with Dhritarashtra's proposal, those heroic men, after worshipping the king, departed from Hastinapura. Satisfied with their share of the kingdom, they settled in Khandavaprastha, which was then a wild and uninhabited wilderness.' ।। 1-199-26 ।।

english translation

[vai] paratigRhya tu tada vAkyaM nRpaM sarve paraNamya ca paratasthire tatò ghòraM vanaM tana manujarSabhAH ardhaM rAjyasya saMprApya khANDava parasthama Avizana || 1-199-26 ||
