एवंगते विग्रहं तैर न रॊचये; संधाय वीरैर दीयताम अद्य भूमिः तेषाम अपीदं परपितामहानां; राज्यं पितुश चैव कुरूत्तमानाम ॥ १-१९५-४ ॥

sanskrit

'Under these circumstances, I do not favor a quarrel with them. Let us conclude a treaty with those heroes and grant them half the kingdom. Surely, this is the rightful paternal inheritance of those foremost in the Kuru lineage.' ॥ 1-195-4 ॥

english translation

evaMgate vigrahaM taira na ròcaye; saMdhAya vIraira dIyatAma adya bhUmiH teSAma apIdaM parapitAmahAnAM; rAjyaM pituza caiva kurUttamAnAma ॥ 1-195-4 ॥
