सामरैर हि यदा लॊकैर भृगूणां कषत्रियाधमैः आगर्भॊत्सादनं कषान्तं तदा मां मन्युर आविषत ॥ १-१७१-६ ॥
'O Pitris, when those despicable Kshatriyas started exterminating the Bhrigus, including the unborn children of our lineage, it was then that wrath filled my soul.' ॥ 1-171-6 ॥
english translation
sAmaraira hi yadA lòkaira bhRgUNAM kaSatriyAdhamaiH AgarbhòtsAdanaM kaSAntaM tadA mAM manyura AviSata ॥ 1-171-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआपूर्ण कॊशाः किल मे मातरः पितरस तथा भयात सर्वेषु लॊकेषु नाधिजग्मुः परायणम ॥ १-१७१-७ ॥
'My mother and the other women of our lineage, all in advanced stages of pregnancy, and my father, greatly alarmed, found not a single protector in all the worlds.' ॥ 1-171-7 ॥
english translation
ApUrNa kòzAH kila me mAtaraH pitarasa tathA bhayAta sarveSu lòkeSu nAdhijagmuH parAyaNama ॥ 1-171-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतान भृगूणां तदा दारान कश चिन नाभ्यवपद्यत यदा तदा दधारेयम ऊरुणैकेन मां शुभा ॥ १-१७१-८ ॥
'At that time, when the Bhrigu women found no protector, my mother held me in one of her thighs.' ॥ 1-171-8 ॥

tAna bhRgUNAM tadA dArAna kaza cina nAbhyavapadyata yadA tadA dadhAreyama UruNaikena mAM zubhA ॥ 1-171-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरतिषेद्धा हि पापस्य यदा लॊकेषु विद्यते तदा सर्वेषु लॊकेषु पापकृन नॊपपद्यते ॥ १-१७१-९ ॥
'If there were a punisher of crimes in the worlds, no one would dare to commit a crime; if there is no punisher found, the number of sinners becomes large.' ॥ 1-171-9 ॥

paratiSeddhA hi pApasya yadA lòkeSu vidyate tadA sarveSu lòkeSu pApakRna nòpapadyate ॥ 1-171-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयदा तु परतिषेद्धारं पापॊ न लभते कव चित तिष्ठन्ति बहवॊ लॊके तदा पापेषु कर्मसु ॥ १-१७१-१० ॥
'The person who has the power to prevent or punish sin, but does not do so despite knowing that a sin has been committed, becomes tainted by that sin.' ॥ 1-171-10 ॥

yadA tu paratiSeddhAraM pApò na labhate kava cita tiSThanti bahavò lòke tadA pApeSu karmasu ॥ 1-171-10 ॥
