शरीः सुरा चैव सॊमश च तुरगश च मनॊजवः यतॊ देवास ततॊ जग्मुर आदित्यपथम आश्रिताः ।। १-१६-३६ ।।

sanskrit

'The goddess of speech (Sharis), the divine wine (Sura), and Soma, along with the swift White Horse named Manojavah, all originated from the same source and proceeded along the path of the sun.' ।। 1-16-36 ।।

english translation

zarIH surA caiva sòmaza ca turagaza ca manòjavaH yatò devAsa tatò jagmura Adityapathama AzritAH || 1-16-36 ||

hk transliteration

धन्वन्तरिस ततॊ देवॊ वपुष्मान उदतिष्ठत शवेतं कमण्डलुं बिभ्रद अमृतं यत्र तिष्ठति ।। १-१६-३७ ।।

sanskrit

'Following that, the divine physician Dhanvantari appeared, adorned with a radiant form, holding a white jug containing the nectar.' ।। 1-16-37 ।।

english translation

dhanvantarisa tatò devò vapuSmAna udatiSThata zavetaM kamaNDaluM bibhrada amRtaM yatra tiSThati || 1-16-37 ||

hk transliteration

एतद अत्यद्भुतं दृष्ट्वा दानवानां समुत्थितः अमृतार्थे महान नादॊ ममेदम इति जल्पताम ।। १-१६-३८ ।।

sanskrit

'Witnessing this exceedingly wondrous sight, a great noise arose among the demons who had assembled, expressing their eagerness for the nectar.' ।। 1-16-38 ।।

english translation

etada atyadbhutaM dRSTvA dAnavAnAM samutthitaH amRtArthe mahAna nAdò mamedama iti jalpatAma || 1-16-38 ||

ततॊ नारायणॊ मायाम आस्थितॊ मॊहिनीं परभुः सत्री रूपम अद्भुतं कृत्वा दानवान अभिसंश्रितः ।। १-१६-३९ ।।

sanskrit

'Then, Narayana, the Supreme Lord, assuming the enchanting form of Mohini, endowed with captivating beauty, captivated the demons who had sought refuge in delusion.' ।। 1-16-39 ।।

tatò nArAyaNò mAyAma Asthitò mòhinIM parabhuH satrI rUpama adbhutaM kRtvA dAnavAna abhisaMzritaH || 1-16-39 ||

ततस तद अमृतं तस्यै ददुस ते मूढचेतसः सत्रियै दानव दैतेयाः सर्वे तद्गतमानसाः ।। १-१६-४० ।।

sanskrit

'Then, the foolish-minded demons, enchanted by her, gave the nectar to Mohini, the woman, thinking her to be a confidante.' ।। 1-16-40 ।।

tatasa tada amRtaM tasyai dadusa te mUDhacetasaH satriyai dAnava daiteyAH sarve tadgatamAnasAH || 1-16-40 ||
