वेदे धनुषि चाचार्यम अभिजानामि ते ऽरजुन विश्रुतं तरिषु लॊकेषु भारद्वाजं यशस्विनम ॥ १-१५९-६ ॥
'O Arjuna, I am personally acquainted with your preceptor, the illustrious son of Bharadwaja, renowned across the three worlds for his expertise in the Vedas and the science of arms.' ॥ 1-159-6 ॥

vede dhanuSi cAcAryama abhijAnAmi te 'rajuna vizrutaM tariSu lòkeSu bhAradvAjaM yazasvinama ॥ 1-159-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptधर्मं वायुं च शक्रं च विजानाम्य अश्विनौ तथा पाण्डुं च कुरुशार्दूल षड एतान कुलवर्धनान पितॄन एतान अहं पार्थ देव मानुषसात्तमान ॥ १-१५९-७ ॥
'O tiger of the Kuru lineage, O son of Pritha, I am acquainted with Dharma, Vayu, Sakra, the twin Aswins, and Pandu—these six, the perpetuators of the Kuru race—these excellent beings, both celestial and human progenitors of your lineage.' ॥ 1-159-7 ॥

dharmaM vAyuM ca zakraM ca vijAnAmya azvinau tathA pANDuM ca kuruzArdUla SaDa etAna kulavardhanAna pitRRna etAna ahaM pArtha deva mAnuSasAttamAna ॥ 1-159-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदिव्यात्मानॊ महात्मानः सर्वशस्त्रभृतां वराः भवन्तॊ भरातरः शूराः सर्वे सुचरितव्रताः ॥ १-१५९-८ ॥
'I am aware that you five brothers are erudite and noble-minded, the foremost among all wielders of weapons, courageous, virtuous, and steadfast in your vows.' ॥ 1-159-8 ॥

divyAtmAnò mahAtmAnaH sarvazastrabhRtAM varAH bhavantò bharAtaraH zUrAH sarve sucaritavratAH ॥ 1-159-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउत्तमां तु मनॊ बुद्धिं भवतां भावितात्मनाम जानन्न अपि च वः पार्थ कृतवान इह धर्षणाम ॥ १-१५९-९ ॥
'Understanding that your intellect and character are excellent, and your conduct faultless, I have nonetheless reproached you.' ॥ 1-159-9 ॥

uttamAM tu manò buddhiM bhavatAM bhAvitAtmanAma jAnanna api ca vaH pArtha kRtavAna iha dharSaNAma ॥ 1-159-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसत्री सकाशे च कौरव्य न पुमान कषन्तुम अर्हति धर्षणाम आत्मनः पश्यन बाहुद्रविणम आश्रितः ॥ १-१५९-१० ॥
'For, O scion of the Kuru lineage, it is not fitting for a man of strength to tolerate any mistreatment in the presence of his wife.' ॥ 1-159-10 ॥
